It's a huge difference between this and my Force 5 ABT. So far I'm having to re-adjust to the increased string spacing. I think the cream colored ones would make this bass look even more vintage. My final tasks with this one are to adjust the string and pickup height, and to see if I can score some cream colored pickup covers. Serial number for you to add to the list! I slathered them in several drops of Deoxit and now they're smooth with no pops or scratches.Īlthough this photo doesn't really show it, the case is beat to hell, so I guess it's done its job of protecting the guitar over the many years. When I first played it at the seller's house the pots were scratchy. Hell I even polished the frets and screw heads! I also slapped on a set of new DR Nickel Lo-Riders, may fav strings. I took off almost every piece of metal on the bass and polished it with Mother's. I didn't take a photo yet, but it's a string-through body. The bridge sort of reminds me of a slightly smaller Badass bridge. I also popped on a set of Dunlop Strap Locks to replace the mismatched strap buttons that came with it. The edge binding is still in perfect shape all the way around. The top is still in remarkably good shape for its age! The back side has the usual dents, nicks, chips, etc. It was fairly dirty, so I took it completely apart and cleaned in every nook and cranny. Well, I "liberated" this one from Craigslist this past Friday.
