Should we switch to PS versions of that font? But, since it works on Mac OS 10.3.x with Quark 6.52, I'm not 100% certain.Īny suggestions that you might have would be appreciated. It would appear that the Arial Narrow MT Opentype font family is the cause of the problem. The other fonts that we purchased (Serpentine and Adobe Garamond, PS versions for Mac and Windows) don't seem to have any problems.Īt this point I'm confused as to what to do. We've also tried other documents that need to have fonts substituted and those will also crash, so it's not just this particular document. We've tried other Opentype fonts in these documents and they do not cause a problem. When we do the same thing in Adobe Illustrator CS2 or Photoshop CS2 it works fine as well. However, when we open a document created in 6.52 and try to do a font substitution using Bold, Italic or Bold-Italic, it crashes Quark every time. It also works when substituting another font with the STD version of this font. On Mac OS 10.4.9 and either Quark 6.52 or 7.2, the font works when it is used in a new document. On Mac OS 10.3.x and Quark 6.52, the Arial Narrow MT Opentype font works fine. I recently purchased an Arial Narrow MT font package in OpenType format. We're in the process of upgrading several Macs to OS 10.4 (Tiger) and are running into some issues with Quark crashing.
